Nikki Seward - Yoga Instructor

With health and exercise always a priority for Nikki, eating clean, going to the gym, and leading an active lifestyle were apart of her daily regime at UNCW (and to present). When she studied abroad in Marseille, France there were no gyms available, so she turned to youtube workouts that she could do in the dorm room. She shortly discovered 'Yoga with Adrienne' and completed her 30 day Yoga Challenge. Nikki noticed how much better she felt - especially in the mind and body.

Upon returning to the States, Nikki continued to try out this yoga thing. She went to an actual class in an actual studio, and felt a whole new meaning to yoga- a sense of community, a sense of connection, and a sense of purpose to the movements. She was immediately hooked - the feeling of zen after a mindful, sweaty hour. For the first time, Nikki truly appreciated and understood a deeper, intuitive love of her body.

She started hopping around studios in Charlotte and loved Charlotte Yoga for the diversity of class styles, inspiring teachers, and just the right amount of push to grow in your practice.

Being on the mat, yoga taught her so much and she wanted to incorporate this into her daily life. She decided to quit the job that she adored here in Charlotte to take a year off.

She went to Uvita, Costa Rica to explore and study yoga, earning her 200 hr YTT. She studied the Ashtanga primary series, as well as yin, vinyasa and pranayama having no intention of teaching, just going to grow and learn. She was mistaken; this retreat opened her eyes even further to the yogic philosophy - uniting body, mind and spirit. During her year travels around Latin America and Mexico, she continued exploring and soaking up all she could; attending silent meditation and yoga retreats (hatha and tantra), volunteering in yoga communities (Krisna and Hridya), and meeting inspiring people that taught her more than you could ever learn in a book. She taught classes mostly in Colombia and Panama. All of these teachings, philosophies of yoga, and experiences have shaped her into the teacher she is today. She is happy to return to the Charlotte Yoga Community, as a team member (both teacher and front desk receptionist) and practicing yogi.

Come prepared to class to sweat with powerful, flowing movement, while harmoniously balancing the stillness as you re-connect with the self and those around you.

Off the mat, Nikki enjoys rock climbing, cooking, a good glass of wine, reading, traveling, and being with friends and family!
