Charlotte Yoga Staff

Heather Sprouse - Yoga Instructor

Heather is a Pittsburgh native and moved to Charlotte in September of 2000. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She spent the majority of her 13 year career as a nurse working in the Intensive Care Unit with some moonlighting in the Trauma Unit and Burn Unit. She is currently a nurse consultant for Wood Medical Consulting and works from home.

Starting her yoga journey in 2015, she initially started for the physical component but stayed for the mental component. Yoga has helped her maintain a healthy lifestyle- connecting the mind, body, and soul. Yoga helped her through the challenging highs and lows, manage stress and anxiety, and helped her promote an overall healthier wellbeing.

Heather completed her 200-hour RYT in September of 2020. Yoga helped her give her heart permission to heal and lit her soul on fire. Yoga brought her home to herself. Working as a health care professional she has also taken an interest in the health benefits of yoga and hopes to teach these to some of students aiding and promoting healthier lifestyles. She has developed an understanding into what yoga posture aids certain body systems.

Health and fitness has always been a huge part of her journey. When not on her mat you can find her strength training in the gym, hiking, or watching her sons play tennis and travel hockey. January through May you can find her investing a lot of time and energy volunteering with the CureSearch non-profit organization. Heather has participated in 8 Ultimate hikes with the CureSearch organization spreading children’s cancer awareness and raising money to find a cure for children’s cancer. Heather is the Experience Captain for the Charlotte CureSearch Ultimate Hike team.

Hiking and yoga are two of her greatest passions. She loves spending her time with like-minded people and being a part of these two incredible communities. Part of that is participating in something that is bigger than yourself. Fighting for something you are so passionate about and continue to stay connected to the cause after the big event. Showing up year after year for the children and families that need you most. Supporting children battling cancer has been a mission of hers for the last 6 years. She hikes each year for 4 amazing children with the same thing in mind, we need to find a cure! Yoga gives me the opportunity to show up for myself. It gives me the time to pause, breathe, and be fully present. Taking what you practice so diligently on your mat-gratefulness, gratitude, and mindfulness and apply that to your everyday life.
